every time i open my minecraft it says updateing minecraft and it also says done loading the green bar is like almost full but not ny ways it freezes on that please help

i do not know what is wrong with your minecraft but i think i can figure it out. what are you using to get free minecraft, or do you have a full acc? tell me so i can help you figure this out. what exactly are you doing upon loading mc? are you just pressing login or "force update" or what?

i think i figured it out. if you are playing an older version of minecraft (not 1.2.5) and dont have a full acc. when you login the game knows that you have an old version of minecraft, and trys to update you to 1.2.5. the problem with this is that you are playing offline mode so you cannot download it and it freezes. to fix this download a program like mineshafter (what i use) and open it (itll take some time to open it so dont think that it isnt working, just wait), press options, force update. then login using that. mineshafter is free. that should work but if it doesnt, i cant help you.

actually my minecraft is 1.2.5

well anyways there is probably something wrong with your minecraft.jar file (will do the same hing as being out of date) and following those directions should fix it. have you tried installing any mods?

nope but i have downloaded a few maps and texture packs but i deleted them not to long after i downloaded them

Most likely cat face is right, But, Ever think about how old your computer is? It could be that it can't handle it, Therefor freezing.

this migth help i tried to make my minecraft the minecraft 1.2.6 prerelease i couldnt figure it out but i stopped but my minecraft didnt work after that i deleted the 1.2.6 file

I got my loptop two year ago so it's new too

my laptop is close to almost a year maybe 10 months or 8 but really some 1 help i havnt been able to play minecraft for weeks
