You cannot edit your skin to where other people can see it in multiplayer.Can i change my skin in single player from the original steve skin?Yes i have made my own skin using some one else's skin i altered the clothing got rid of the hat and kept the hair.1.Go into you .mincraft file you will need WinRAR i have the trial version.2.Go to 'BIN'3.Select 'minecraft'4.It should open with winRAR if not select WinRAR to open it with5.Go into 'mob'6.Delete the file called 'char.png'7.Then go onto a skin website and find someone's or make your own/edit theirs'8.Save it then open it up in downloads or where ever it was saved and name it 'char' it should now be called 'char.png' now go back to .minecraft-bin-minecraft (winRAR should open it)9.Go into 'mob' and paste your new skinIf it says cannot delete this file because....Then close down your laptop / PC and log in again then after your computer is loaded paste the char file into the mob folder it should work nowHope i helped! Do you mean with out WinRAR? If so then no i dont think so sorry just use the trial version which is what i use

If it says that restart your pc and dont open google or minecraft for free just type in on the start menu bin and click the folder that says bin it should be mine craft then delete the char file and replace it

Sorry i cant make videos but search on you tube or just follow the steps its easy really :download a skin you want name it char Close all windows and go into your minecraft folder>Bin open .minecraft and go into mob and delete char.png then replace it with your skin called char and its done

i cant delete it. ive tried what you said but it doesn't delete. it comes up with this error that says it can't be deleted

Rather than delete it, just drag the new file into the window. It'll prompt you that the file exists already, and just click Replace. Make sure that the skin that you're adding is already named char.png

Make sure java or google chrome/ IE isn't running. It should work if you just restart your pc and do it making sure minecraft or any other windows aren't open.

I don't think it would. Just open it in paint and 'save as' -> png

All i do is type in the name,such as Deadmau5.Works on both singleplayer and multiplayer.

i cant get it to work for multiplayer, just single player. but i do have a super honeydew skin. im a yogscast fan aight? and yes im a girl. i think thier rather stupid, and if your me i think stupid is funny.

my skin is was supost to be honeydew and i think it was a fail...my skin is all messed up!is that normal? plz help!!!

actually the problem is i cant DELETE the char.pgn and replace itif it worked it comes up as a BLANK character ( as in everywhere is white )

Try using another skin?

Try using 7zip instead of WinRAR.

Look i tried another and its still all messed up!!!!it looks horrorible!!your idea didnt work!damn! does any one has more ideas!?!?!
